Michael H. Loshigian, DPM, FACFAS
Doctor Loshigian earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with honors, from the State University of New York. He completed the Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine program with high honors, in 1993 from the Wm. M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Returning to New York, he completed his residency in Podiatric medicine and surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an academic affiliate of Weil Medical College of Cornell University.
In 1997 Dr. Loshigian founded Metropolitan Foot & Ankle Group, a private practice limited to Podiatry & Reconstructive Foot Surgery. Dr. Loshigian is a Clinical Instructor at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC, as well as NY Hospital Queens. A meticulous and innovative surgeon, Dr. Loshigian offers his patients the latest in surgical techniques. His goals are to provide them the fastest possible recovery, a minimum discomfort, and return to normal function. Dr. Loshigian is a board-certified foot surgeon. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Andrew Pavelescu, DPM, AACFAS
Dr. Andrew Pavelescu is a reputable foot and ankle surgeon with extensive training in all aspects of forefoot, hindfoot, and ankle surgery including trauma, sports medicine and arthroscopy, pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery, external (frame) fixation techniques, limb salvage, wound and diabetic foot care, as well as general podiatry. Dr. Pavelescu will provide the most effective treatments for your particular problem; he has spent many years specializing in disorders that specifically affect your feet and ankles. As a podiatric surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle care in New York City, Dr. Pavelescu has a reputation of listening carefully to his patients’ needs and goals and is sure to address them correctly the first time.
Dr. Pavelescu completed his residency and training in the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College. In addition to his residency, he received supplemental training at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, in Baltimore, in lower limb deformity correction as well as advanced training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, by the AO Foundation. Dr. Pavelescu is currently on an academic sabbatical, having been selected for a fellowship position in tissue healing, regenerative and hyperbaric medicine. He will resume seeing patients full time in July 2019.
He earned his medical degree from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, in Cleveland, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, where he was awarded with the Presidential Scholarship and earned distinction as a member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society. He graduated in the top 10% of his class. Dr. Pavelescu received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Wayne State University, in Detroit, where he was recognized on the dean’s list throughout his matriculation.
Outside of the office, Dr. Pavelescu is actively involved in teaching and resident education where he is a core teaching faculty member at both Mount Sinai – Beth Israel and NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens. He is trilingual and fluent in English, French, and Romanian. Dr. Pavelescu is also very involved with the New York State Podiatric Medical Association (NYSPMA) as Chair of the Young Members Committee and Taskforce, Vice President of the NYSPMA Queens Division, as well as advocacy for the profession. He is also an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).

Marcus Shapiro, DPM
Marcus Shapiro, DPM received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Syracuse University. He continued his education at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated in 1995. He completed 3 years of surgical training and has been in practice since then. Doctor Shapiro is well versed in all aspects of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and always stays current in the latest treatments, both in the medical field and its relevance to Podiatric medicine and surgery.

Camilo Benitez, DPM
Dr. Camilo Benitez is a Board qualified foot surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Benitez completed a 4 year surgical residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City where he was chief resident. His training focused on elective reconstructive forefoot and rear foot surgery, foot and ankle trauma, advanced limb salvage techniques, lower extremity wound care, and general podiatric medicine for both adult and pediatric patients.
During his residency, Dr. Benitez presented on novel surgical techniques at the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgery’s 75th Scientific Conference, and guest lectured at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery New York City Division Medical and Surgical Complications Seminars.
Dr. Benitez earned his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated with high honors. He received the Timothy Holbrook Memorial Award of Excellence from the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine and the Orthopedic Rotation Excellence Award. He earned his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the City University of New York’s Queens College, graduating Cum Laude. During his undergraduate and medical schooling, he served in the New York City Emergency Medical Services system as an Emergency Medical Technician. Now, Dr. Benitez forms part of the team of specialists at The Metropolitan Foot & Ankle Group.
